Moonflower: I can’t take back what has already been done. I can’t change all of the times that I stayed silent when I should have spoken up, the times I turned a blind eye as Valerian… I should have done more. I could have done more. Instead, I let him ruin you. I hope you are able to find some happiness in this world.

Sirius: I never blamed you, Moonflower. You’re just as much of a prisoner of Valerian’s ambitions as Altair and I are. I hope that one day you’ll be free of your cage.

Moonflower: A romantic sentiment, but I am afraid this cage is also my gravePlease take care of my daughter.

Sirius: You know, for the longest time I actually believed that, that I am a monster. That I could never really be anything different than that. That I didn’t deserve anything more than what you had made me to be. But that’s what you wanted, isn’t it? Break them and they will never leave. That’s the way you work, isn’t it?

Valerian: What? You suddenly have something that you feel is better than anything I have to offer? Please, don’t make me laugh.

Sirius: The most important thing. I would do anything to make her happy.

Sirius: You know there is so much more to the world than losses and gains.

Valerian: When did you get so sentimental? If you don’t benefit from it then, why do it at all? Because you love her. Don’t be ridiculous. Love is a game for fools, a game that you’re inevitably going to lose. How long do you think it will be before she sees you for the monster you really are?

Sirius: Monster…[weary chuckle]

Valerian: You’re foolish if you think that our deal still stands–

Sirius: This isn’t about the deal. I want to keep her as far away from you as I possibly can.

Valerian: You of all people should know the consequences of making such a decision. Do you really think that you are immune to them?

Sirius: [laughing] You can skip your big, bad, boss talk, Valerian.

Valerian: What do expect to gain from all of this nonsense anyway?

The Cutting Room Floor #1

I thought it would be fun to talk about what could have been. These are all plot points that I have considered but decided not to go with. If you find this interesting, let me know!

The Many Faces of Sirius Blossite

#1 – Sirius was not always going to be the bad, bad man that he turned out to be. In the original draft of the story, he was the one that talked Altair into leaving. They were going to remain, friends, even after she ran away.

#2 – Funny enough? Altair and Sirius are actual townies I made before I started Simblr. They are actually a happily married couple in my Not So Berry save. I just really liked Altair so I decided to use her.

Why the changes: I felt like the plot was kind of… I don’t know, boring? I wanted to explore something more dark and twisted. I also felt since Foxglove and Ume were already such “nice guys” that I didn’t want Sirius to be one too. Sorry, Sirius.

Ume Hanakatoba and the death of Foxglove Glade

image

#1 – Foxglove was originally going to die in a fire, not as part of a murder plot.

#2 – Altair wasn’t going to be at the Yoga studio with Clover while he died. She was actually going to be cheating on him with Ume.

Why the changes: I changed the way Foxglove died because it ultimately served as a way to make Ume a detective and build up later points to integrate Sirius into the story. As for the cheating? It really doesn’t fit with the character I designed Ume to be. Altair is very impulsive and lives life by her emotions. Ume, on the other hand, is very level-headed and tends to put other’s feelings before his own.
