Altair: Guess we’re doomed to die old spinsters.

Clover: Maybe we should go to the pet store after this.

Altair: A pet store? Have all the fish gone to your head?

Clover: I figure if we’re going to be spinsters we’re going to need cats.

Altair: Please, Clover. We both know you’re a dog person.

Clover: So, what are you going to do now?

Altair: Oh berry, can we go like one outing without talking about my trainwreck of a love life?

Clover: At least you have one. I’m living vicariously through you right now.

Altair: Har, har. Well, I think it’s your turn now. I think I’m done.

Clover: That requires me actually socializing with human beings other than you.

Ume: Not in the way I used to…

Altair: I can’t believe–

Ume: Can’t believe what? That after all of these years of being your second choice I might not want to be anymore?

Altair: How can you say that? That isn’t true at all.

Ume: Isn’t it though, Altair? Look at me and tell me that I’m the one you want here. If you can… then I promise you I will stay and find a way to make this work.

Ume: Is that really what you want?

Altair: It doesn’t really matter what either of us wants at this point, does it? The baby will be here any day now and we have to do what’s best for her.

Ume: Is it really best for her?

Altair:

Ume: You know what it’s like to grow up with parents that don’t love each other… do we really want to put our child through that?

Altair: Are you saying you don’t love me anymore?
