Ume: With everything you’ve done? Did you really think that I would let you get away that easily?

Sirius: [sighs] You know, I was really hoping that you just might.

Ume: Sorry to disappoint you.

Sirius: I’m disappointed I have to break my promise to her.

Ume: I’m sure she’ll get over it once she sees you for what you really are.

Sirius: [chuckles] It must be nice to still be so naive about the world.

Ume: I’m sorry, Altair. I don’t have time for this right now. Someone get her!

Lupin: I’m really sorry about this ma’am, but you have to come with me.

Altair: Like hell, I’m going anywhere with you guys. Get out of my way.

Lupin: I’m afraid I can’t do that. We have to keep you safe.

Altair: Hey! What do you think you’re doing? LET GO OF ME! [starts pounding on Lupin’s back]

Lupin: Ow. Cut it out already, would you?

Altair: PUT ME DOWN!

Altair: What in berries name do you think you’re doing?

Ume: I’m stopping you from making the biggest mistake of your life.

[echoing slap]

Altair: Mistake? Who are you to judge the decisions that I make?

Ume: You just have to trust me on this Altair. He’s not who he says he is.

Altair: Who exactly would that be?

I wish I could take this whole day back.
Maybe then…you’d still be here
Maybe then… I wouldn’t be stucking missing you…
Maybe then.. I wouldn’t be hating myself for the choice I made.

[doors creaking]

Ume: STOP!

[crowd gasping]

Ume: Altair. I can’t let you go through with this.

Ume: Y-you. Do you really think telling me that will help your case at all? If anything now I have more reason to not cut you a deal.

Valerian: You’ve done the investigation. You should already know, I may be the man behind the curtain, but I’m not the one who pulls the trigger. I assure you, if you want to keep Altair and Provence safe like you claim, you’ll want to know who they are.

Ume: Then tell me, who are they?

Valerian: Does the name Sirius Blossite mean anything to you?

Ume: Sirius… like the Sirius that Altair is supposed to marry tomorrow?

Valerian: You better hurry then.

[door slams]

Valerian: [leans back in chair] That was easier than I thought it would be.

Valerian: You shouldn’t be so hasty to assume you don’t want what I have to offer.

Ume: Please. There’s nothing you can give me that would make worth risking you being out there to hurt Altair and Provence again.

Valerian: Not even if I could give you the person who murdered your mother?

Ume: [choked noise]

Valerian: That got your attention.

Ume: [quiet] My mother was her own murderer. Nice try though.

Valerian: It was just made to look that way.

Ume: Look, even if that’s true. What proof do you have?

Valerian: I paid for it to happen.

Ume: I’m going to be straight with you now, even though I agreed to this meeting, I have absolutely no intention of accepting any bargain you try to make with me.

Valerian: Why are you here then?

Ume: I’m not going to lie. Hearing you beg for mercy is satisfying after everything you put us all through.
