Aster: He asked me if he could get me a replacement coffee after we finished… and we’ve kind of been dating ever since then.

Clover: How long have you two been together?

Aster: A little over six months.

Altair: …six months?

Aster: Uh.. yeah.

Altair: Excuse me… I think I’m going to go for a walk.

Aster: [whispering to Clover] Did I say something wrong?

Clover: I should probably follow her.

Aster: I had worked a few of the cases that Ume had been the arresting officer before, but really hadn’t had many conversations. He always kind of… keeps to himself?

Clover: He’s definitely an introvert. So what got you talking?

Aster: That’s kind of the funny part? I was running really late one day. [nervous chuckle]… sorry this all sounds so cliche saying it out loud. I was running around the corner trying to get to an arraignment on time, coffee in hand, of course.

Clover: Let me guess? You two ran straight into each other, didn’t you?

Aster: Coffee all down the front of me.

Clover: It sounds like it’s straight out of a movie.

Aster: Right? I couldn’t believe it either. Anyway. He helped me get cleaned up and we just kind of… started talking.

Clover: [awkwardly] So… Aster, how did you and Ume meet?

Aster: It’s kind of a funny story.

Altair: [mutters to self] Of course it is.

Aster: The short version is we met through work.

Clover: Oh? Are you an officer too?

Aster: Uh, no. I’m a public defense attorny.

Altair: Ume?

Clover: Uh.. yeah.

Altair: Did you know he was going to be here?

Clover: Pru invited him to come.

Altair: Why didn’t you tell me?

Clover: I didn’t want you to not come, okay You’ve been so distant lately. I just miss my friend.

Altair: Okay, I get it. I’m sorry… it’s just.. unexpected.

Provence: UME!! UME!!!

Ume: You’ve gotten so big!

Provence: [giggles] I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve missed you.

Ume: I’ve missed you too.

Aster: What if they don’t like me? They all love her right? I don’t want to be the girl that doesn’t live up.

Ume: You’re overthinking everything. I promise you. They’re going to adore you.

Aster: Are you sure it’s okay for me to be here? I don’t want to cause any trouble.

Ume: It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.

Aster: Won’t it be awkward though? You said your ex-girlfriend is going to be here right?

Ume: We haven’t been together for years. Besides, I’ve heard she’s seeing someone else too.

Clover: Absolutely no can do, Tair.

Altair: [grumbles] And you wonder why it’s taken so long for you two to meet.

Sirius: It’s okay. I’ll answer any question you have.

Clover: [raises eyebrow] Any questions?

Altair: Clover, behave yourself.

Sirius: Any questions.

Altair: You have no idea what you’re in for.

Clover: [innocent look] Altair. I assure you, I will be an absolute angel.

Altair: Somehow I doubt that.

Sirius: It’s nice to finally meet you.

Clover: Likewise. I was beginning to wonder if you even existed since Altair seems to have avoided us meeting for so long.

Altair: I wouldn’t say I was avoiding you two meeting. You’ve just been busy, is all. You know, school. Hard to fit it into the schedule.

Sirius: [pokes nose] It’s okay. We forgive you. We know how you are.

Clover: [bursts out laughing] Okay, you pass the initial meeting test. Let’s see if you can get through the interrogation round.

Altair: [annoyed] Can we skipped the interrogation round, please?
