Blaze:
Let’s try this a different way… have you ever had something happen to you before? Something strange that you couldn’t quite explain?

Flora: Sometimes. Doesn’t that happen to everyone though?

[awkward silence]

Flora: Why does everyone look so doom and gloom all of the sudden?

Aquila: That “melting” you’re talking about. We think you caused it. It wasn’t in your mind, it really happened.

Flora: That’s absolutely absurd.

Blaze: Can you tell us more about your people?

Flora: ….can you explain why the vampires were after me, Blaze? I don’t quite understand.

Blaze: It’s because of what you did…

Flora: Everyone keeps talking about “what I did” but what exactly did I do?

Blaze: You really don’t remember?

Flora: Not really. It’s more… like feelings? I remember my heart racing, the feel of panic… how my feet seemed to stick to the ground like sludge. It was as if the floor underneath me was melting away… I couldn’t really see anything. Just… panic.

Flora: Wait… this is where you live?

Blaze: Yeah? Is there a problem?

Flora: It’s just so… domestic.

Blaze: What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Flora: I don’t know. You’re just all tattoos and scars and… your shirt literally has a skull ripped out of the back.

Blaze: What does any of that have to do with my living arrangements?

Flora: I don’t know? I thought you would just live somewhere… cooler.

Aquila: HA! This girl is entertaining. Yeah, Blaze, why don’t you live in some kind of cave or something?

Flora: A cave would better suit your appearance.

Blaze: [groans] Look, if you don’t like where I live you can just go back and stay with Raven.

Flora: What a lovely home you have, sir.

Blaze: [grumbling] That’s what I thought.

Gidget: Hmm, I’m afraid I am failing to explain myself correctly to you tonight.

Andromeda: You humans are so strange.

Gidget: [soft laugh] Perhaps.

Andromeda: I hope that this feeling you are having is a good one.

Gidget: It’s too early to tell how all of it will end. With any change though, comes sacrifice. Even the most positive of changes have their downsides… and I am afraid. I cannot stop myself from wondering… how many of those around us will not make it through this? Hundreds of years and hundreds of deaths and I still can’t stand the thought of losing one of them. It’s silly.

Andromeda: You will always have me, until the very end of the world.

Gidget: [weak smile] Always. Come here, Andromeda.

Andromeda: The winds are always changing directions. I do not understand why that would concern you.

Gidget: It’s an expression, Drom. I mean there is a big change coming to the world.

Andromeda: A change? How can you tell?

Gidget: I can feel it in my bones.

Andromeda: I am afraid you have lost me again.
