Flora: What are we doing out here in murderville anyhow?
Pantomime: Training.
Flora: Training?
Pantomime: That’s what I said, isn’t it?
Flora: Care to be more specific?
Flora: What are we doing out here in murderville anyhow?
Pantomime: Training.
Flora: Training?
Pantomime: That’s what I said, isn’t it?
Flora: Care to be more specific?
Flora: Oh boy. I don’t like the looks of this place.
Pantomime: You’re being dramatic.
Flora: No, really. This looks like the perfect place for a murder to take place. [gasps] You’re going to murder me aren’t you?
Pantomime: Don’t tempt me, Flora. We’re just here to train.
Rune: Hey, wait.
Flora: Sorry, Rune, I think I’m all talked out.
Rune: I just wanted to make sure you were okay.
Flora: …You mean after I basically just had the whole fate of the rebellion placed on my shoulders? I’m doing just peachy. Thanks for checking Rune.
Rune: Yikes. Sorry…
Flora: [sighs] I know this isn’t any of this isn’t any of your faults and you’re all just trying to do what’s best, but honestly, I’m feeling overwhelmed by it all.
Rune: Is there anything I can do to help?
Flora: Uh, yeah. You can help me find something to wear that isn’t this hideous dress.
Rune: [chuckles] It is pretty hideous.
Blaze: Everything is speculation at this point, but either way, we would like for you to join the rebellion.
Flora: Are you serious? No, uh-uh, no way. I can’t do that.
Aquila: Please? Our numbers are dwindling fast. Even if our suspicions prove to be incorrect, there’s no doubt that there is something special lurking inside of you. We need all of the help we can get.
Flora: …
Blaze: I’ll give you some time to think about it.
Flora: I think I’m going to go to bed now. Err…thanks for the place to stay, Blaze.
Aquila: Eilif has been in power for almost 400 years now. They will stop at anything to keep that power.
Blaze: Normally when a dreamwalker uses their powers the impact is limited to the realm in which they travel.
Aquila: With you though… if the way Virtue has described what happened what happened, it’s like you merged the dream realm you created with our world.
Rune: As far as Eilif is concerned that makes you a threat.
Blaze: Can you imagine? If you learn to control those powers of yours, you could bring down a whole army of vampires from what you can create inside of your head.
Flora: That’s insane. I-I can’t do that! Are you crazy?!
Blaze: It’s hard to not look at that possibility.
Rune: What we know is more legend than anything. Any of us have only ever met the one… and well, you know what he’s like.
Aquila: We use the term “dreamwalker” but it’s not really… completely accurate.
Blaze: It’s more like they can walk to into other realms of existence.
Aquila: Just… most commonly they can only visit the dream realm. Hence the name. It sounds harmless but if used in a certain way it can be quite dangerous.
Flora: What does any of this have to do with why the vampires are after me?
Aquila: Where did you say you were from?
Flora: Brindleton Bay… or at least what is left of it. There aren’t many of us left out there… even saying there was a hundred would be a bit of a stretch.
Rune: Have you ever heard of a dreamwalker before?
Aquila: Rune!
Rune: What? We’re not doing her any favors by beating around the bush all night.
Flora: You’re not implying what I think you’re implying, are you?
Blaze: Let’s try this a different way… have you ever had something happen to you before? Something strange that you couldn’t quite explain?
Flora: Sometimes. Doesn’t that happen to everyone though?
[awkward silence]
Flora: Why does everyone look so doom and gloom all of the sudden?
Aquila: That “melting” you’re talking about. We think you caused it. It wasn’t in your mind, it really happened.
Flora: That’s absolutely absurd.
Blaze: Can you tell us more about your people?
Flora: ….can you explain why the vampires were after me, Blaze? I don’t quite understand.
Blaze: It’s because of what you did…
Flora: Everyone keeps talking about “what I did” but what exactly did I do?
Blaze: You really don’t remember?
Flora: Not really. It’s more… like feelings? I remember my heart racing, the feel of panic… how my feet seemed to stick to the ground like sludge. It was as if the floor underneath me was melting away… I couldn’t really see anything. Just… panic.
Flora: Wait… this is where you live?
Blaze: Yeah? Is there a problem?
Flora: It’s just so… domestic.
Blaze: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Flora: I don’t know. You’re just all tattoos and scars and… your shirt literally has a skull ripped out of the back.
Blaze: What does any of that have to do with my living arrangements?
Flora: I don’t know? I thought you would just live somewhere… cooler.
Aquila: HA! This girl is entertaining. Yeah, Blaze, why don’t you live in some kind of cave or something?
Flora: A cave would better suit your appearance.
Blaze: [groans] Look, if you don’t like where I live you can just go back and stay with Raven.
Flora: What a lovely home you have, sir.
Blaze: [grumbling] That’s what I thought.
